Hamburgers, hot dogs, corn on the cob�.yep, it�s that time of year again! Fourth of July get togethers are always filled with fun! There are many great displays and events happening this weekend such as the Naperville Ribfest and Taste of Chicago. Fireworks over Chicago�s lakefront are magnificent.

Fireworks can be unpredictable. Some seem to be duds and explode just as you approach to investigate. Some head off in the wrong direction. Some explode right in your hand. Each year there are over 9,000 firework related injuries.

Small fireworks such as sparklers burn at extremely high temperatures. Please keep them away from children as they may not realize the danger that is present. This makes them especially vulnerable. Children love to twirl around with sparklers posing a risk to others as well.

Please play it safe this year by leaving fireworks to the professionals. Enjoy your community�s display. Sit back, relax and enjoy!
