Updated photos of the expansion and a few reminders

The expansion of the Naperville office is well underway! Along with expanding space we will be also adding new staff! Two new pediatricians are on the way along with several new members of the nursing staff.

For those of you who have a child who needs a sport physical for Winter sports you may want to avoid the August crunch of school physical season by scheduling your visit in September.

Do we have your preferred pharmacy on file? If not, please send us an email to pha@pedhealth.net with that information, along with your child's/children's first and last name(s), your address and your child's date of birth. We have several children with the same name and even the same birth date which is why we need your address as well.

Lastly, remember that calling your pharmacy for prescription refills will speed up the approval time from the doctor. Refill requests can now come into the office electronically saving you valuable time by not having to wait for a nurse to call you back.

PHA Happenings

If you've called the Plainfield or West Chicago offices recently you may have been surprised to be speaking to someone at the Naperville office instead. In an effort to improve service to our families we have instituted a call center.  The call center is designed to have more staff available to handle incoming calls and reduce wait times.

If you are calling to make an appointment, please make sure you tell the staff which office you want your child to be seen at.   Your time is precious and the price of gas is high so if you are unsure where your appointment is at please call the office to double check.

********************************************************************************

We are all anxiously awaiting the birth of Dr. Tina Smith's baby! Dr. Smith is now completing her tenure with us and will be moving to Michigan in the near future.

We wish her the best of luck and want to say thank you for the wonderful and compassionate care she provided to our patients. She will be missed!

***********************************************************

Our summer appointment schedule is filling up quickly for school physicals.  To beat the rush consider having your child's school physical done now.   The paperwork will be accepted when your child goes back to school in the fall.   If your child is planning on Spring sports next year then we advise you wait until winter to schedule your appointment.

With Dr. Smith's absence our schedule will be tighter than usual.  Book early to get an appointment that fits your schedule!

Dr. Smith is relocating

Tina Smith, M.D.
Dr. Tina Smith has many exciting changes going on in her life. As many of our families know, she is expecting her second child shortly! Her husband will be finishing his fellowship at Rush University in plastic surgery soon and has accepted a job offer in Michigan. They will be moving there not too long after the baby arrives.

We anticipate that Dr. Smith will be seeing patients until mid-April unless the baby has a different timeline!

If your insurance carrier requires you to choose a PCP and you have Dr. Smith listed, you will need to contact them and choose another physician.

If you would like to continue with Pediatric Health Associates, all physicians are open for new patients with all insurance plans we are contracted with.

We are very happy for Tina and her hubby and wish them all the best! She has been a delight to work with and we will certainly miss her. Thank you Tina for your hard work and for being a blessing to our practice!

Happenings at PHA

This Tuesday, February 15th, we will be switching to a new electronic medical records system. We will experience a little slower data entry while we get accustomed to inputting information into the new software. Your patience is greatly appreciated!

One reason we are moving to a new software is to give our families a faster method of communicating with us. For things such as requesting forms, records and refills, you will in the next few months be able to go on your computer and enter a secure web portal to make these requests and they will be sent back to you through this portal. No more having to stop by the office to pick things up (with the exception of refills for certain medications).

Our Naperville office will be expanding in the next few months as well! We will be enlarging the waiting room and adding more exam rooms. We think youll like our new look!

As always, we are humbled by the trust you place in us and grateful for the opportunity to build wonderful relationships with our families.

Spring is right around the corner!  We are currently scheduling spring/summer sports physicals along with school physicals for the fall.   Summer appointments always fill up quickly!  Beat the rush and schedule your appointment today!
